The reigning world champion of the Champ Car series, Sebastien Bourdais is one of the most successful drivers in the series after winning consecutive championships for seasons 2004-2007.

Bourdais actually got a taste of life in Formula 1 as a test driver back in 2002 when he was signed on with the Arrows team. However, the team was on the verge of bankruptcy and then he went on to test for Renault in December but lost out to Franck Montagny for the test driver's position.

In 2007, he was given several tests with Toro Rosso team, before he was being signed on as a driver beside Sebastian Vettel.
