Another Rainy Race?

It looks like we are set for yet another weekend of wet racing in the German GP.

The weather prediction has it that during the Friday practice sessions there will be showers and light rain during qualifying on Saturday. As for the race day on Sunday itself, rain is expected to fall on early morning with cloudy skies in the day.

We have had a few wet races (Monaco, France and most recently the British GP) this season and seen how the rain can alter the direction of events. In the British GP, Lewis Hamilton did a flawless race in the rain for McLaren, while Nick Heidfeld and Rubens Barrichello clearly benefitted from the rain and scored podium finishes.

Ferrari, for one, would not be too pleased to see the rain falling. Defending champion Kimi Räikkönen hoped for a hot German Grand Prix saying, "Our car goes really well at high temperatures and also the tyre-wear is not too high. So I really hope it will be hot.

"It's hard to overtake, but the qualifying doesn't determine the result as (much as) on other tracks: although starting from the first row will make life much easier."

However, it looked like Ferrari would not be getting their wishes true, at least not according to the weather predictions.
