The oldest driver on the grid could be retiring this year, if the rumours prove to be true. David Coulthard has himself admitted that 2008 could be his last season as a Formula 1 driver and claims to hold no nostalgic feeling when the big day comes.

"When that moment comes, there you go. That's the journey of life. You move on to the next thing," he said. With no contract beyond 2008, Coulthard hoped that the coming Silverstone race will not be his last home race, but the Scot remains realistic.

"There will be a point, naturally, where that's not going to continue and... boo hoo, you know? There are a lot of worse things that can happen to you. You just move on to the next challenge."

Coulthard's next challenge could possibly include being a pundit with the British tv for the coverage of F1.
