Hype Around the Monaco GP

Possibility of a wet race, Giancarlo Fisichella's 200th start, debut of STR03, Fernando Alonso wants to spring a surprise, Lewis Hamilton wants to stay focus - but turns up with a babe for the Cannes this week... What more drama could the Monaco GP this weekend bring?

With the weather forecast of rain during this Saturday's qualifying as well as the race on Sunday. This would provide an even more thrilling mix to the results especially when the track itself, on dry weather, had produced several surprising results over the years.

Force India's Giancarlo Fisichella will be celebrating his 200th start of his career with a new overall and a new helmet with the logo "200" on it. He will definitely be hoping for a good finish to wrap up a perfect weekend of celebrations. Only 8 other drivers have crossed the 200-races mark and they include Jean Alesi, Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard and Rubens Barrichello who had just celebrated his record-breaking 257th start last race.

The Toro Rosso team can finally debut their STR03 officially this weekend. The launch was initially scheduled for the Turkish GP but it was delayed after Sebastien Bourdais crashed the car during the Barcelona testings.

Lewis Hamilton was spotted with a babe in his arms during the Cannes screening of the Indiana Jones And The Kindgom Of The Crystal Skull. The babe, who is 22 years old Miss World runner-up, is from Grenada - the place where Hamilton's grandparents came from as well. However, the Brit racer is determined to stay focus this weekend as he had said during the unveiling of his diamond-helmet.

"It is not a distraction in any way, as with any race I am just fully focused on getting the job done," the 23-year old said.

"Monaco weekend more than any other is about being 100% in the zone and so I just keep myself to myself."

With everyone believing that they have a shot at the Monaco podium (including the Ferrari duo of Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, Renault's Fernando Alonso hoping to surprise his fans), it looks like there is a very exciting race we will be having on our hands this weekend.
