Timo Glock leads the Japanese Grand Prix practice session 2 after the decision to use his engine change 'poker' was announced.

With the liberty to push his engine since he will get a new one just before Sunday's race, Timo Glock showed the power of the Toyota car during the second practice session. Since it is his first engine change for the season, he would not have to incur any grid penalty under the new engine poker rule.

Fernando Alonso in his Renault set the second fastest timing and looks set to have yet another good race weekend, although the Spaniard himself remains realistic about his chances for a repeat Singapore GP performance. Lewis Hamilton was once again faster than Ferrari's Felipe Massa, who was just right ahead of teammate Kimi Räikkönen.

Not to be outshone by their sister team Toro Rosso, Red Bull has a sole representative in the top ten this session with Mark Webber setting the 6th fastest timing. Kazuki Nakajima remained ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg, while BMW's Nick Heidfeld looks to have slacken off in his performance after the confirmation that he will remain in BMW next season was announced. The German was down in 19h place, and teammate Robert Kubica ended the session in 11th place. BMW could have a tough time this weekend.
