Lewis Hamilton Thinks He Still Has a Chance in France

Lewis Hamilton might have been penalised 10 grid-places for the upcoming Magny-Cours GP after his "stupid" collision into Kimi Räikkönen, but he thinks that he still has a fighting chance to take a shot at victory next weekend.

Ever the optimist, he said, "I feel quite confident that we can still win there. That's my job.

"I still feel we can finish in the top three but it's going to be a real challenge."

In a race anything can happen, and the incident last week between him and Räikkönen, which resulted in both losing the lead on the Drivers' Championship, proves to show that to win an F1 race it takes more than just excellent driving skills, a good car but also plenty of luck.

Räikkönen looks set to be challenging BMW's Robert Kubica for the 1st spot upon exiting the pit lane when the both of them parked at the exit to wait for the traffic light to turn green. Unfortunately, a case of rookie mistake and nerves resulted in Hamilton to miss the red light completely and crash right into the back of Räikkönen's Ferrari.

Kimi Räikkönen has since vowed to make a strong comeback in France after not scoring a single point in 2 races (Monaco GP and Canadian GP).
