Max Mosley may have survived the vote of confidence held yesterday, but he might not survive the backlash from the result of the votes.

The FIA Extraordinary General Assembly voted if they want Max Mosley to remain as the president of FIA after news of his sex scandal broke out.

The FIA membership voted as follows:

For the motion:  103
Against the motion:  55
Abstentions:   7
Invalid votes   4

According to reports, many of those who voted against the motion voiced their disappointment and regret at the result of the votes. Some have even taken to boycott the FIA in protest, such as Germany's Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC), with America's Automotive Association (AAA) considering similar actions and Canada waiting for their officials to return before making a decision on how to proceed.

Even with the results of the votes standing, there are many in the Formula 1 world who hope to see the FIA president step down soon.

Eddie Jordan, former team owner of the Jordan Grand Prix team said, "My hope is he will think about the damage.

"There are a lot of countries where F1 goes and lots of the rulers of those countries don't want to deal with him. That is clearly not acceptable.

"My hope is that he will listen to the comments and then go. I'm quite certain he will stand down before the end of the year."

Bernie Ecclestone, who relationship with Mosley declined rapidly after the latter sent out a letter in what Ecclestone interpreted as a 'declaration of war', did not fail to mention that although he had won the votes, the fact that many do not wish to speak to him still stands.

BMW's team principal Dr. Mario Theissen however, had the wisest words, "It is important now for everyone concerned to turn their undivided attention back to the sport."
