Nick Heidfeld Fired Up Ahead of Home Grand Prix

Image It could be the revival of Nick Heidfeld's season with the German feeling confident ahead of the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim after his 2nd placed finish in the British Grand Prix.

The BMW team has yet to announce their drivers' line up for the next season, and with Robert Kubica's strong drive and even recognised as statistically the best driver this season, the Pole's race seat is most likely secured unless he is eyeing a move to other teams. However, the same can't be said for Nick Heidfeld who has struggled for the first half of the season. He had started off the season in Australia with a 2nd placed finish but 3 out-of-point finishers in Spain (9th), Monaco (14th) and France (13th) did nothing to assure Dr Mario Theissen, team principal of BMW Sauber to retain Quick Nick.

Going into the German Grand Prix,  Nick Heidfeld is clearly feeling in form - and plans to keep it that way.

"Clearly, it gives me an extra push to go into my home GP on the back of a podium finish in the last race. I want to keep heading in the same direction - get a good position on the grid and do as well as possible in the race itself. I'm really looking forward to what is BMW's home Grand Prix as well as mine personally. Plus, Hockenheim always attracts a particularly large number of fans from Switzerland as well, and I'm determined to put on a great performance for them."
