Join the Pact - Mika Hakkinen in Singapore

First it was the heavy rain, then it was the blazing sun that shone down brightly upon the Padang.

But the throngs of people who turned up for the Johnnie Walker Join the Pact event which featured two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen certainly did not regret it.

On Sunday, 30th March, an F1 car screamed down the streets of Singapore for the first time ever. Mika Hakkinen, ambassador of Johnnie Walker's responsible drinking campaign, was in Singapore showcasing the McLaren-Mercedes F1 car and to drive across the message "Never Drink and Drive" to the public.

The event was a resounding success as Singaporeans and tourists alike turned up to catch the F1 car "live" in action. Crowds cheered for the 2-time world champion as he took on the Singapore roads and did a couple of runs up and down the St. Andrews' road, allowing everyone to see, smell and hear the F1 car roaring in action.
