SINGAPORE: The Formula 1 night race in Singapore is less than a month away and preparations for the race are heating up.

Workers are putting finishing touches to the F1 circuit.

Even the manhole covers along the race track have been changed to ensure the drivers' safety. This is because the racing cars will move at a much faster speed than normal cars.

The new manhole covers are specially designed to prevent any rocking movement when cars go over them.

Custom-made in France, the covers are also used on the F1 circuit in Monaco.

To prepare the service sector for the race, the Singapore Tourism Board will be training some 2,000 service staff in the retail, entertainment and food and beverages industries, as well as places of interest on good customer service. - CNA/vm

I remember the 2006 Beijing A1 Grand Prix where the glued manholes were sucked out by the diffusers! They had to bolt them down after the practice session...hope that doesn't happen to us.
