The RBS Grand Prix Challenge 2008 took place at the Singapore National Museum on 18th March. ![]() The day begun with the presentation of a cheque worth $10,800 donated to Child At Street 11 Limited. ![]() Our 4 brave contestants of the day. Alvin Ng clocked a personal best of 1:13.174, Justin Kwan with 1:12.056, last year's winner Alvin Koh with 1:11.526 and Pandu Nuhuswantoro with a time of 1:13.596 during the rounds held at Raffles Place and Ngee Ann City. ![]() The contestants and Nico Rosberg were grilled with questions from Paula Malai Ali Host of the day Paula Malai Ali, who also host ESPN Star Sports' coverage of the Formula 1 Race Day, asked some questions to the contestants. The guys had pit their skills against the others, with some of them admitting to trying for several times before finally achieving their best times. Williams' driver Nico Rosberg, whom our contestants would be going up against, said that it had been months since he last tried the simulator and predicted a timing of 1:10 for himself during the challenge today. ![]() ![]() Nico Rosberg was the first one to get down to setting his fastest lap ![]() Alvin Ng at the Simulator ![]() Justin was the second contestant to try his hands on the simulator ![]() Pandu's ride was a little bumpy. ![]() Alvin Koh had a bad start to his race - by going the wrong way. ![]() Alvin Koh gets down to set his fastest lap. Finally, the competitors have all had their turns at the simulator and it was time to announce the winner. Mr. Alan Goodyear, the General Manager and Head of Global Banking and Markets, South East Asia, presented the prizes to the worthy winners. ![]() Mr. Alan Goodyear announcing the timings of the contestants ![]() Pandu was 4th with a time of 1:19.084 and won himself a RBS Backpack. ![]() Alvin Ng clocked a time of 1:14.188 and was third, winning himself an Oris watch. ![]() Alvin Koh, last year's winner, clocked a time of 1:13.143 and won himself a Lenovo laptop. He said that he was a little disappointed at not winning the grand prix - a pair of grandstand tickets to the Singtel Singapore Formula 1 race for his family. That drew a smart quip from Nico Rosberg who suggested Alvin to sell the laptop and buy the tickets. ![]() ![]() And our winner of the day is Justin Kwan with a time of 1:11.785, beating even Williams' driver Nico Rosberg's timing of 1:12.936!
