The Singapore F1 pit building situated at 1 Raffles Boulevard is now ready for the first Singapore F1 night race coming in September.

The three-storey building contains the 36 team garages (3 for each team), media centre,  Formula 1 Paddock Club area, race control room equipped with 24 CCTV cameras as well as a podium where the top 3 finishers of the race will be presented trophies by the Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The state-of-the-art pit building, which cost SGD $40million and ten months to complete, was inaugurated yesterday in a ceremony attended by Mr S. Iswaran, Senior Minister of State for Trade & Industry and the ceremony's Guest of Honour, as well as key officials from organisers Singapore GP Pte Ltd, the Singapore Tourism Board, and some invited guests.

“The Pit Building is set to provide some of the most exclusive experiences available to race-goers. The race experience will be made complete with the many lifestyle offerings that we have lined up with the Singapore GP Season including fine dining, great shopping and various entertainment options. We hope to give visiting Formula One™ fans more reasons to return to Uniquely Singapore for fulfilling race experiences year after year.” said Mr Lim Neo Chian, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive, Singapore Tourism Board, who chairs the Formula One™ Working Committee.

A suite in the Paddock Club area can be rented for $7,500 SGD for the three race days and can also be rented for private parties. Important government officials will be accomodated at the VVIP Hospitality suite located at the southern end of the building.

The building now needs some final touch up. "The interiors (still need to be) finished and some of the technical facilities (have to be) done up in time,” said Mr Iswaran.
