Singapore Pools to Open Betting for Formula 1 Races
Singapore Pools Pte Ltd, Singapore's only legalised bookmaker, will be taking bets for F1 races starting from the 2008 season.

Race enthusiasts and punters will soon find themselves with one more vested interested in following the sport, after Singapore Pools announced their decision to take bets for the 2008 races. More details will be released at a later date as the bookmaker finalises the types of bets that will be taken. Reports from local newspapers Straits Times and My Paper reported that punters can look forward to placing bets on the winner of races, championships as well as the fastest laps and pole-takers.

It is hoped that with the legitimisation of the bets, punters will be less inclined to turn to overseas bookmakers like Ladbrokes and illegal private bookmakers.
